Privacy policy

How TRIBEMEDIA GROUP LTD handles personal data connected with tribemediagroup.co.uk.

Who we are

TRIBEMEDIA GROUP LTD is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17251780. It operates the tribemediagroup.co.uk website and trades as TribeMedia, an independent mobile game studio.

TRIBEMEDIA GROUP LTD is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. The registered office of TRIBEMEDIA GROUP LTD is recorded against company number 17251780 on the public register at Companies House, and that is the address with legal effect for service.

This policy explains what TribeMedia collects through the website and through correspondence, why we use it, how long we keep it, who else handles it on our behalf and which rights you have under UK GDPR.

We have written it in plain English. If anything in it is unclear, please write to TribeMedia and we will explain.

Apps this policy covers

This policy currently covers the tribemediagroup.co.uk website and email contact or postal correspondence with TribeMedia.

We do not currently publish any mobile apps on the TribeMedia website, so no app name, package name, SDK or Android permission is described here.

When TribeMedia releases a game on Google Play, that app will receive a separate policy at its own address on tribemediagroup.co.uk. The separate policy will name the app and its exact package name, follow its Google Play Data Safety answers, list any SDKs it includes and explain every Android permission it requests.

This TribeMedia company policy will then link to each app policy, so you can always find the notice that applies to the game you use.

Information we collect

The TribeMedia website has no user accounts, sign-up forms, comment areas or payment pages, so you do not need to give us any personal data to read it.

When you visit tribemediagroup.co.uk, our hosting provider processes technical request data on our behalf. This includes your IP address, the page requested, the date and time of the request, your browser and device type and, where your browser sends it, the page that linked to tribemediagroup.co.uk.

TribeMedia does not run analytics software, advertising pixels, session recording or other tracking scripts on the website.

If you write to TribeMedia, we receive your name, your postal or email address and anything you choose to include in your message or attachments.

Please do not send TribeMedia passwords, payment card details, health information or other sensitive data, because we do not need them to answer a question.

Each future TribeMedia app policy will follow the Google Play Data Safety categories and will say plainly whether any data leaves your device or is stored only on it.

How we use information

TribeMedia uses request data only to deliver pages, keep tribemediagroup.co.uk available and secure, and investigate misuse or technical faults.

TribeMedia uses correspondence to read and answer your message, to keep a record of what we told you and to deal with any follow-up request.

Our lawful basis for running a secure website and answering enquiries is our legitimate interest in operating the TribeMedia studio and talking to the people who contact it. Where the law requires TRIBEMEDIA GROUP LTD to keep a record, our lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.

TribeMedia does not sell personal data, does not use it for advertising or profiling, and does not make decisions about you by automated means alone.

Third-party services and SDKs

The TribeMedia website does not include any third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, social media plugins, fonts loaded from other servers or embedded advertising.

Cloudflare, Inc. hosts tribemediagroup.co.uk and delivers its pages. Cloudflare acts as our processor for request data. You can read its privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

If TribeMedia uses an email provider to handle correspondence, that provider processes messages for us under its own data processing terms and may not use them for its own purposes.

Any SDK used in a future TribeMedia game will be named, with a link to its privacy policy, in that game's separate policy.

Data retention and deletion

Cloudflare keeps request logs for a short period under its own retention settings. TribeMedia does not copy those logs into a separate database.

TribeMedia keeps correspondence for up to 18 months after the matter is closed, unless a longer period is needed to deal with a legal claim or to meet a legal duty.

Where correspondence forms part of the company records of TRIBEMEDIA GROUP LTD, it is kept for the period UK law requires, which is normally six years.

You can ask TribeMedia to delete your correspondence at any time. We will do so unless the law requires us to keep it, and we will tell you if that is the case.

The TribeMedia website stores nothing on your device, so there is no local website data for you to remove.

Children

The TribeMedia website is a general company website and is not directed at children under 13.

TribeMedia does not knowingly collect personal data from children through tribemediagroup.co.uk.

If you believe a child has written to TribeMedia and shared personal information, please let us know and we will delete it.

Each future TribeMedia game policy will state the age group the game is designed for and explain how the game meets the rules that apply to that audience.

Permissions

The TribeMedia website requests no device permissions.

Visiting tribemediagroup.co.uk does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, files or notifications.

When TribeMedia publishes an Android game, its separate policy will list every permission found in the inspected build and explain what each one is used for.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask TribeMedia for access to the personal data we hold about you and for a copy of it.

You can also ask TribeMedia to correct inaccurate data, to erase data, to restrict how we use it, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to receive data you gave us in a portable format where that right applies.

To use any of these rights, write to TRIBEMEDIA GROUP LTD using the details in the Contact us section. TribeMedia will reply within one month, and may ask for reasonable information to confirm your identity before releasing personal data.

If you are unhappy with how TribeMedia has handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by telephone on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

International transfers

TribeMedia is run from the United Kingdom.

Cloudflare operates a global network, so request data from a visit to tribemediagroup.co.uk may be processed in countries outside the UK, including the United States.

Where that happens, TribeMedia relies on the safeguards in Cloudflare's data processing terms, which include the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

TribeMedia reviews this policy when the website changes, before a new game is released and when data protection law changes.

The effective date and version number at the top of this page show when the TribeMedia policy last changed.

If a change materially affects how TribeMedia uses personal data, we will make that clear on this page.
